The idea here was for someone that speakers representing Advertisers, platforms and publishers would present their views on AdBlocking and then there was a vote to see who was the most convincing. For the record I came joint second but here are my 5 minutes.

Back in my Kantar agency days in the Summer of 2006 we were all looking forward to the Football World Cup in Germany. At the time the BBC were looking for any insight they could get for a not entirely inclusive piece about opportunities for companies to sell to World Cup Widows. No matter what I told them about not really having any data on that, the following morning I found myself getting interviewed live on the subject. I wasn’t briefed on what questions I was going to be asked whilst getting a hand massage at the same time for some reason.

An interview where I was asked to share some campaign highlights and also some predictions for the year. Obviously they all came true.

Matt Stockbridge, Growth Analytics Manager, Mondelez International at the IAB Engage 2016 conference
One my career highlights, being asked to speak at an IAB Engage conference. One small confession, I hadn’t appreciated the scale of the event. I usually give away some chocolate to help with the feedback scores so notice how I came armed with a box of Creme Eggs to hand out. Somehow that wasn’t going to be enough for the audience of 800+ Digerati. As you will see, I got around that but then wondered how well my content was going to go down. I was basically berating the industry for the way they sell to companies like Mondelez. I must have got away with it as my session got the second highest level of feedback for the overall conference.
